Kurt Angle has announced that he is currently training for the 2012 Olympics. This is not just a rumour like his MMA or UFC careers. In both of those cases Kurt reported that the companies couldn't come to terms on money and scheduling, but that the Olympics will be on his own terms. He also just signed a new 3 year contract with TNA and reported that they are now paying him more than he was ever getting paid by the WWE. He also stated that they will be giving him all the time off that he needs to train for the Olympics, that they are being very supportive of the whole thing.
I seem to remember him wanting to compete again in the Olympics back when he was in the WWE. It was announced but then it was dropped pretty quick, not sure if he changed his mind back then or if the WWE wasn't supporting him in that choice, cus he sure seems to want to mention how supportive TNA is being, almost like he is saying they are doing what WWE wouldn't. But that's just my interpretation.
